On June 23, 1994, 52 PR Professionals met at the Antler's Doubletree Hotel.
DeeDee LeGrand called the meeting to order and said the first step to chartering the chapter was complete: submitting ten signatures of active members on the new chapter charter petition to PRSA National.
The first order of business was naming the chapter, which became "Pikes Peak" and not Colorado Springs due to members outside of the Springs. DeeDee LeGrand noted that membership boundaries may go from Pueblo to Castle Rock. Fred Sindt added that 17 people are outside of the Springs. On a unanimous vote, "Pikes Peak Chapter" was approved.
