In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pikes Peak PRSA will be hosting virtual events for members and non-members that wish to join. The Pikes Peak PRSA Board recognizes that many aspects of the PR and communication profession have changed and we are here to help provide resources - or even a space to speak about relevant issues.
August 2020 - Prioritizing our health and wellness during COVID
Serving our clients and playing a role in helping them succeed fuels us every day. But long days working from home and managing family obligations can take its toll on our mental and physical health. And in the client service industry, we’re always putting ourselves last.
This two-part interactive workshop will give participants the tools to advocate for themselves and take care of their mind and body. Mark Mohammadpour, APR and certified personal trainer and health coach who lost and kept off 110 pounds more than 10 years ago, will lead discussions that offer practical tools to help keep minds motivated and bodies fueled and prepared to tackle one of the most stressful jobs in the world: public relations professional.
Participants will learn ways to rethink their mindset towards health and wellness and work on identifying ways they can make themselves a priority while working from home.

About Mark Mohammadpour, APR:
Mark Mohammadpour, APR is a strategic communications executive, certified personal trainer, and health coach. His company, Chasing the Sun, offers health coaching tailored for those who work from home and want to lose weight on their terms. Mark spent most of his public relations career at Weber Shandwick and Edelman. Throughout his career, Mark led integrated communications programs for more than a dozen global brands, including Adobe, AMD, Microsoft, Samsung, and the U.S. Army. Mark also served as the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Oregon Chapter president in 2016.
