Industry awards get you noticed, get you promoted, and get you clients. Everybody wants some. But planning, fielding, and managing a successful public relations program is just one step toward winning PRSA’s coveted Silver Anvil and other awards. It’s easy to be intimidated by a competition that includes the world’s sharpest public relations professionals, often boasting numerous resources and generous funding. But every year Silver Anvils go to smaller players on shoestring budgets – many of which may not technically have had better campaigns. They just had better entries. With award competition deadlines fast approaching, now is the time to learn what makes an entry grab the judges’ attention, what makes it sing, and what makes it a winner. Join frequent Silver Anvil judge and multiple Silver Anvil winner Paul Dusseault, APR, as he walks through the architecture of the perfect award competition entry.
